Beauty trumps adversity

Jenny Andreasson of the Winter Park Observer wrote a story about a recent event at B.A.S.E. Camp. Here is an excerpt.

Although Danny only had one line in the 15-minute play, his mother, Cindy Whitaker, beamed with pride from her seat in front of the wooden stage, which was draped with a boldly colored patchwork curtain and decorated with hand-painted murals of Monster Island.

The production of "Momo-taro-san" on Friday, Aug. 8, was the culmination of the week-long theater camp attended by children who have been affected by cancer — ones who have it or have a sibling who has it.
